When is my MOT due?
Most cars need their first MOT by the third anniversary of registration, then one every year. You can have your MOT up to a month (minus a day) before it runs out and keep the same renewal date for next year.

Quick checks before your MOT
A few simple checks at home can save a fail on something small:
- All lights and indicators work, including brake lights
- Tyres have at least 1.6mm of tread and no cuts or bulges
- Wipers clear the screen and the washer bottle is topped up
- Number plates are clean and easy to read
- No warning lights are showing on the dashboard
- The horn works
What happens if my car fails?
You'll get a list of the faults found. If any are dangerous, the vehicle can't be driven until they're fixed. Ask us for a quote to put things right so you can get back on the road.
